Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the government was outside the city to prevent future incidents. Chinnaswamy is considering transferring the stadium. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) IPL 2025 victory ceremony claimed 11 people and many were injured on 4 June.
Siddaramaiah expressed deep grief over the incident and confirmed that the government was looking for a long -term solution. He revealed that his government wants to transfer the stadium to a different place.
Siddaramaiah told reporters, “The government will focus on taking the cricket stadium to another. Such an unpleasant incident should not be under any government. Personally, this incident has hurt me and the government.”
He said, “Five police officers have been suspended in this case. The intelligence chief and the political secretary of the Chief Minister have been replaced. The matter has been taken seriously and appropriate action has been taken.”
The Chief Minister admitted that the government had not done a irresponsible work on the Bengaluru stampede. He insisted that legal action was taken against those responsible for the tragic incident.
“The government has not done anything wrong. The incident is tragic, but no wrong was done by the administration. Legal action has been taken against those found guilty, so there is no question of embarrassment for the government,” Siddaramaiah accepted.
Siddaramaiah said that he knew about the tragic stampede outside the stadium on June 4 at 5:45 pm. He did not even attend the event at the stadium, which started at around 6:10, but Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar participated.
Recently, Siddaramaiah announced that the compensation for the families of the deceased would increase from INR 10 lakh to INR 25 lakh. He emphasized that the government is standing with the families affected during this difficult time.
