Gujarat Titans all-rounder glen phillips A brilliant catch was taken near the boundary ropes during their clash against Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 8.
Batting first, Gujarat Titans scored a mammoth score of 210/4 in 20 overs. GT's right-arm fast bowler Ashok Sharma bowled a good length ball to KL Rahul. Rahul stepped back and tried to take it to backward point.
Phillips reacted brilliantly, covering significant ground with a sprint before diving forward in an attempt to complete the catch. However, the ball bounced right in front of him and hit his trousers before rolling into the boundary. If he had managed to catch the catch, it would have been one of the most notable catches of the tournament.
Earlier in the innings, Shubman Gill led from the front with a knock of 70 runs in 45 balls, which included four fours and five sixes. Jos Buttler played a quickfire 52 off 27 balls, while Washington Sundar made a crucial contribution of 55 off 32 balls, helping GT reach a strong total.
For Delhi Capitals, Mukesh Kumar was among the wicket-takers, finishing with figures of 2/55 from his four overs.
