Former Indian cricketer and IPL commentator Harbhajan Singh On Sunday, a controversial racial comment was made during the IPL 2025 match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Commenting, Singh compared England's Pesar Jofra Archer to the “Black Taxi” of London, which triggered allegations of widespread criticism and racism.
The incident occurred during the 18th over of the first innings when Archer was bowling for SRH batsmen Ishaan Kishan and Heinrich Klassen. The South African batsman broke the boundaries against England's Pesar when Harbhajan compared.
“London Me Kali Taxi meters faster, and Yah Pay Archer Saheb's meter is faster (like a meter of black taxis in London, the meter of Archer has also been in high part),” Harbhajan said in the air.
