Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) registered a resounding 65-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match number 6. Indian Premier League 2026 at Eden Gardens on Thursday, April 2.
After being invited to bat, SRH posted a strong score of 226/8 in 20 overs thanks to a fast start from Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. The duo added 82 runs in just 34 balls for the opening wicket, putting KKR on the back foot early. Head scored 46 runs in 21 balls, while Abhishek scored 48 runs in 21 balls.
Captain Ishan Kishan and Aniket Verma could not take advantage of this and fell for 14 and one run respectively. However, Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy took the innings forward with an 82-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Klaasen scored 52 runs in 35 balls with the help of four fours and a six, while Reddy contributed 39 valuable runs.
For KKR, Blessing Muzarabani excelled with figures of 4/41, while Vaibhav Arora took two wickets.
In reply, KKR got off to a great start with Finn Allen scoring 28 runs off just seven balls. However, wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Angkrish Raghuvanshi performed well by scoring 52 runs in 29 balls, while Rinku Singh added 35 runs.
Despite their efforts, the rest of the batting lineup failed to contribute and KKR were all out for 161 runs. For SRH, Jaydev Unadkat took 3/21, while Ishan Malinga and Reddy took two wickets each.
With this win, SRH moved to sixth position with one win from two matches, while KKR slipped to ninth position after losing both their games so far.
