The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued an addendum outlining a new set of guidelines ahead of the season, which also includes instructions that no practice sessions will be allowed on match days.
The board has also introduced a separate arrangement at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, where teams will be allotted two practice wickets each on either side of the main concourse. As mentioned earlier, no team will be allowed to use the practice wickets assigned to their opponent.
Continuing the norms of recent years, teams are not allowed to conduct fitness tests at the main intersection on match days. Additionally, players will have to travel by team bus to the stadium on practice days, while family members and friends will have to use separate vehicles.
The following are additional guidelines recently sent to team managers:
- Teams will get 2 nets in the practice area and 1 side wicket at the main square for range hitting. For Mumbai venue, if both the teams are practicing at the same time, the teams will get 2 wickets each.
No open net will be allowed. - If one team finishes its practice early, the other team is not allowed to use the wicket for practice.
- No practice will be allowed on the match day.
- There will be no fitness test at the main intersection on the day of the match.
- On practice days (pre-tournament and during the tournament), only accredited staff are allowed into the dressing rooms and playing fields. Players' family members and friends travel in a separate vehicle and can watch the team practice from the hospitality area. The list for the extended support staff (throw down specialists/net bowlers) will have to be submitted to BCCI for approval. Once approved, non-match day recognitions will be issued for the same.
- Players should use the team bus when coming to practice. Teams can travel in two batches.
- For any requests related to practice, fitness test on match days, the Venue Manager will be the POC.
match day guidelines
- It is mandatory for PMOA accredited staff to bring their accreditation on match day. A warning will be issued if recognition is not obtained in the first attempt. If caught a second time, a financial penalty will be imposed on the team.
- Despite a hitting net being provided, players keep hitting the LED boards. We request the teams to follow the same.
- Players and support staff should not sit in front of the LED board. The sponsorship team will mark places in the FOP where substitutes carrying towels and water bottles can be seated.
- Players will have to wear orange and purple caps. In case where players do not wear caps, we request players to wear caps for the first two overs until the broadcast captures it.
- Floppy and sleeveless jerseys are not allowed in the post-match presentation. Failure to do so will result in a warning in the first instance. If caught a second time, there will be a financial penalty.
- On match days, similar to the IPL 2025 season, only 12 accredited support staff will be allowed including the team doctor.
