The BCB has put its Constitution Reform Committee in front of a boycott of Dhaka clubs. The second -level competition in the city, the Dhaka First Division Cricket League, has been suspended since January 14, and the clubs refused to play.
Its protests come from reports that the BCB Constitution Reform Committee presented a resolution to reduce the number of BCB directors nominated by the 12 to four Dhaka League. The BCB or the committee in question has not been a formal announcement. A change in the BCB constitution would be required to do it and it would be approved at the Council’s annual general meeting.
In any way, the BCB announced on Saturday that he will take a look at the area of work and reference terms of the Committee.
“The Council decided to postpone the activities of the Constitution Review Committee,” said BCB director Mahbubul Anam. “This Committee could be changed or expanded at a later time. The rest of the activities will take place only after their scope and reference terms are prepared. The terms of reference will be on how the necessary changes to the Constitution will do, As they will involve the interest groups. “
Anim said that the reports of the Committee presented any resolutions were not founded. “They never presented a change proposed to the President of the Council or anyone in the Council. We have also heard that they did not send anything to the National Sports Council. Many of the changes that are spoken are not correct.
However, he said, the BCB wants the whole process to be more transparent. “The BCB counselors believe that the process must be clearer. There is no secret about the Constitution. It is public information. We want to suspend their activities to stop these discussions. The Council considers that the stakeholders must Participate -so we need to change and expansion. “
The BCB also announced the names of the council’s counselors who will direct 21 of its 23 permanent committees.
Faruque himself has been appointed chairman of the Board Marketing Committee. Akram Khan, Mahbubul Anam and Fahim Sinha have also played roles as chairman of various committees.
The BCB has instructed the newly appointed several chairs that form complete committees for each of their places for the following two weeks.
