The 36 -year -old Mumbai batsman has captained Pune Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals so far. With KKR being appointed as captain, he is set to make a record on Saturday against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on the early night of the season.

Earlier in the week, KKR CEO Venki Mysore highlighted why Rahen was appointed as captain instead of Venkatesh Iyer, named the vice-captain.
