Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are set to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match No. 6 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Thursday, April 2, at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Three-time champions KKR started their campaign with a six-wicket defeat to Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Ajinkya Rahane-led side failed to defend the target of 221 runs on a poor pitch. KKR's bowling department looked disjointed, especially with Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine failing to make an impact. Some decisions taken by captain Rahane and his deputy Rinku Singh were criticized by fans and experts.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, started with a six-wicket loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore. Ishan KishanThe acting captain batted brilliantly and young Aniket Verma also played a brilliant innings. They reached 201/9 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, the defending champions chased down the target with complete ease and won with 26 balls remaining in the innings. The performance of SRH bowlers was disappointing and they would like to get back into their rhythm soon.
Here is the 3-player battle for KKR vs SRH, Match 6 of IPL 2026:
3. Heinrich Klaasen vs Varun Chakraborty

Heinrich Klaasen has retired from international cricket and is playing only franchise leagues. IPL 2026 is going to be a challenge for him as he has not had much cricket. In the first game, Klaasen started fast but slowed down a bit in the middle of his innings. In the end, he played a brilliant inning of 31 runs in 22 balls.
On the other hand, it seems that Varun Chakraborty's form has deserted him since the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup. In KKR's first game against MI, the mystery spinner failed to make an impact. He bowled four overs and gave 48 runs. With KKR's pace attack being quite inexperienced, the onus of causing most of the damage has been on Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine.
