IPL 2026: 5 players who can win Orange Cap

The T20 World Cup may be over, but the biggest festival of T20 cricket returns with the 19th edition of the IPL, starting on March 28. The last two years have seen incredible displays of top-order batting and fireworks with record scores and scores in excess of 200 in India's premier franchise league.

This means the batting and individual performances of key batsmen throughout the season. The legends of the game have won the IPL Orange Cap with stellar seasons, let's take a look at who can potentially add their names to this illustrious list this time.

Sai Sudarshan Was the main man with the bat for Gujarat Titans last season. With a blistering inning of 759 runs, he won the 2025 Orange Cap as Gujarat reached the eliminator, losing to Mumbai Indians in a game where Sudarshan's innings almost cost them victory. He formed a solid partnership with Shubman Gill at the top of the order, keeping the Titan batting innings together and stable. His average was 54.21 and he scored six half-centuries and one century at an average of 156.17.

In a year when he made his Test debut for India and struggled for form and runs, Sai will be looking to make a statement in this year's IPL, and what better way than joining the likes of Chris Gayle, David Warner and Virat Kohli, winners of the Orange Cap over multiple seasons.
