In a decision that reflects their rapidly growing talent in Indian cricket Vaibhav Suryavanshi Students of Bihar will not appear in the Class 10 board examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) this year. He has been a revelation in the Indian cricket circuit with his outfield performances at this age, and since the Indian Premier League 2026 is starting in March, Suryavanshi decided to keep studies aside.
Now in a major decision, the budding cricketer has opted out due to a highly demanding cricket schedule which also includes cricket commitments. Security concerns at the designated exam center also played a role in the decision. Although his admit card was already released and the exam center was also formally allotted, Suryavanshi will not appear for the exam this year.
The Times of India quoted former BCA president Rakesh Tiwari as saying, “Around 2000-3000 people gather to watch Suryavanshi wherever he goes. He is one of the most loved cricketers in the country today. We are thinking of alternative arrangements for him so that he can appear for his exams later.”
CBSE Class 10 exams are scheduled to be held from February 17 to March 11. Adarsh Kumar Pintu, director of Modesty School in Tajpur, where Suryavanshi studies, confirmed that all the formalities have been completed by the school, and they have also been given Podar International School in their city as the examination centre.
He said, “After discussion with Suryavanshi's father, it came to light that due to his busy schedule, he will not be able to appear in the exams this year. At present, Suryavanshi's entire focus is on cricket and he is busy preparing for the upcoming tournaments.”
Suryavanshi recently enjoyed a stellar campaign at the Under-19 World Cup, where he produced several stellar performances and was instrumental in helping the Boys in Blue lift the coveted silverware.
After debuting in IPL 2025 Rajasthan RoyalsSuryavanshi has already made several batting records in the cash-rich tournament. He has scored the fastest IPL century by an Indian batsman (35 balls) and holds the record for most sixes (11) hit by an Indian in an innings. Apart from being the youngest player to play in the IPL, he also holds the record for most sixes (30) and fastest final century (55 balls) in the Under-19 World Cup.
