IPL chairman Arun Singh Dhumal expressed confidence that players like Prashant Veer and Karthik Sharma getting proper rewards for their performances in domestic cricket will be a great source of motivation.
“Whatever we wanted to achieve from this auction, we have achieved it. The kind of reward that Prashant Veer and Karthik Sharma have received is unprecedented, unimaginable and unprecedented. Chennai Super Kings' Stephen Fleming explained that his perception of 20-over cricket is an experienced cricketer's game and the factors that bring success to teams have changed over time.
Fleming said, “I wonder if we are now seeing the real product of T20 cricket coming through. It certainly started last year, maybe even a year ago. Earlier, my view was that experience would win. But now you are seeing fearless athletes who have grown up in T20 cricket and they have a skill set that is mouth-watering.”
Mumbai Indians owner Mukesh Ambani was very happy with the uncapped players, who secured deals worth several crores of rupees. He also underlined how demand and supply dictate the way franchises approach uncapped players during the auction.
“Really very, very happy for the uncapped players. They need to remember that the auction is a place of demand and supply and don't let the price go to your head because it's about when your name comes up and what slots teams are looking to fill. From that point of view, I really wish them all the best. They are extremely talented players, all of them who have gone above the average prices of uncapped players over the years. It's just demand and supply, and the timing and situation of the auction, Ambani said.
Prashant Veer and Karthik Sharma made headlines in the auction for the uncapped lot, which CSK sold for Rs 14.2 crore. Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Auqib Nabi was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 8.4 crore. There were a number of players who were added by the franchises to their respective setups based on their impressive performances in the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
