Rajasthan Royals (RR) have completed a sensational homecoming by securing the Indian leg spinner and Rajasthan native in the IPL 2026 auction. Ravi Bishnoi For Rs 7.2 crore. Bishnoi, who hails from Jodhpur, adds proven quality and energy to the Royals' bowling attack.
The 25-year-old played for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the last four seasons of the IPL. However, his performance in IPL 2025 was not memorable and he suffered a huge loss to rookie leg spinner Digvesh Rathi. Bishnoi was released by LSG last month and was bid for during the mini-auction in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, December 16.
On joining the Royals, Bishnoi said, “Playing for Rajasthan Royals will feel like playing at home. I started my cricket journey right here at RR and now representing a team that bears the name of my state means a lot to me.”

RR principal owner Manoj Badale welcomed Bishnoi back to the Royals family, praising his skills as a cricketer and highlighting his hunger to perform.

Bishnoi emerged as a priority target for the franchise. The Royals acted decisively in the competitive auction pool, fending off rival bids to ensure that the local star ultimately represented his home state in the IPL.
Bishnoi strengthens the Royals bowling unit with a proven wicket-taker who is capable of controlling the crucial middle phase of the game. His unique action and ability to generate quick turn makes him ideal for the Royals. He also has valuable experience, having taken 72 wickets in 77 IPL matches, maintaining an economy rate of 8.21 – underlining his ability to perform under pressure against the world's best power-hitters.
