The much-awaited IPL 2026 mini-auction is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, December 16, at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. A total of Rs 237 crore can be spent by the 10 franchises in the mini-auction today. Initially, 350 players were to be in the auction list, but after some last-minute additions, it has now been increased to 369.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are expected to be the busiest franchise during the auction. Youngest and oldest players in IPL 2026 mini-auction
The youngest player who will be included in the IPL 2026 mini-auction is Afghanistan off-spinner Wahidullah Zadran. He turned 18 in November. The base price of the talented cricketer is Rs 30 lakh, which is the minimum for players in the upcoming auction. This young player has played 19 T20s, in which he has taken 28 wickets at an average of 16.32 and strike rate of 14.5. His economy rate is an impressive 6.72, which shows that he does not give away too many runs. He recently represented Gulf Giants in the International League T20 (ILT20).
Meanwhile, the oldest player in the auction list is none other than veteran spin-bowling all-rounder Jalaj Saxena. The 39-year-old has played only one game in the IPL and it came against Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 18, 2021, when he was playing for Punjab Kings. Interestingly, Saxena celebrated her 39th birthday on December 15. He has scored 709 runs in 79 T20s at an average of 16.11 and taken 86 wickets at an average of 17.67. He was seen in action during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, as he played for Prithvi Shaw-led Maharashtra. The veteran cricketer has kept his base price at Rs 40 lakh.
