Prasad met Karnataka state Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday, December 10, and discussed how the state government and local authorities can help revive cricket activity in Chinnaswamy. Prasad also assured to discuss the matter in the state cabinet meeting in Parliament.

Chinnaswamy, who lost the 2025 Women's World Cup game and was not considered for hosting the 2026 T20 World Cup, Shivakumar promised that he would soon return to host international events as well.
“We have no intention of stopping the matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. We will not disappoint the cricket fans. Crowd control measures need to be introduced. Also, we have to incorporate the recommendations of the Michael D'Cunha committee in a phased manner. Even the KSCA president [Prasad] This has been agreed upon,” Shivakumar said.
“We will not allow any match, including the IPL, to be shifted out of Bengaluru. I have urged Prasad to make a united effort to bring international matches back to Bengaluru. The Congress government is committed to developing cricket infrastructure, including building new stadiums,” the Deputy CM said.
