RCB may trade 3 players before IPL 2026 auction

Royal Challengers Bangalore Enjoyed a brilliant campaign in the 2025 Indian Premier League, as they ended their 18-year wait for the trophy by emerging victorious in the final. The franchise flourished under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar and recorded nine wins in the league stage before defeating Punjab Kings in the final.

Many players stepped up for RCB throughout the tournament, but two standouts among them were Virat Kohli and Josh Hazlewood. Kohli scored 657 runs in 15 matches at an impressive strike rate of 144.71, while Hazlewood took 22 wickets in just 12 matches at an economy of 8.77.

However, the management would like to strengthen its squad for the 19th iteration of the tournament. There will be a number of quality players who are expected to enter the mini auction. Like most other franchises, RCB will be looking to acquire players by sending some players to other teams.

jacob bethel He was bought by RCB for Rs 2.6 crore during the mega auction ahead of the 2025 season. He had broken into the English white-ball setup a few months before the auction and impressed with his all-round abilities. However, Bethel played only a few matches for RCB and then received a call-up for England's series against the West Indies, which clashed with the playoffs.

Bethel scored a quick half-century in a match against Chennai Super Kings at home. However, his left-arm spin was not used. While Bethel is a solid option and there is no doubt about his abilities, RCB may plan to trade him for a more established spin-bowling all-rounder.
