There were reports that you opted to join CSK more than RCB after receiving offers from both teams on the same day. Why did you choose CSK for any reason?
I grew up seeing Mahi Bhai. I think he played a soft corner to CSK. I have been watching him playing since childhood, winning IPL trophies. For this reason, I chose CSK.
What was your initial response after going to the IPL 2025 mega auction? Who gave you the most support during that phase?
I had high expectations during the IPL 2025 mega auction. I was a little nervous after not getting the bid. My family had high expectations because I had been playing for a long time. I wanted to play a level high, and it was a disappointing moment for me and my family. My 2-3 close friends and family members supported me during that phase, inspired me to focus on SMAT at that time, and my mind was stable because of them.
Who gave you the news about your debut, and what was your immediate response?
Our match was in Kolkata. I got a call to get into Kolkata. I met Srikanth Sir after reaching the team hotel. He then told me that I would play that game at number 3. I was surprised to hear this, because I had just reached the team hotel and got a chance to play. It was a great feeling as my family and I dreamed of playing IPL since childhood.
The fastest T20 century came from your bat, and it came two days after being unhappy in the mega auction. Was this more statement for the franchise?
Nothing like that. I am very close to my father. He was very disappointed when I did not get the bid in the IPL 2025 mega auction. I did not see her disappointing in my life in this way. Behind my mind, whatever I play with them, I wanted to play for my father. It seems that it was a God's plan. I played my natural game and supported my abilities, supporting myself.
You were part of the Gujarat Titans setup in IPL 2023. How will you compare the atmosphere of the dressing room there with CSK?
Both are big franchises as they have achieved success. The atmosphere of the dressing room was slightly equal as both sides want to bring the best from the players. We do not feel pressure at all. Speaking about CSK, the team still had no pressure on any player, despite not playing well this season.

As a player, I always think of playing for a big franchise like CSK. It is always about who supported me and gave me an opportunity during my difficult phase. For me, it matters the most with money.
