In a conversation with the BBC, actor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Abhishek Bachchan shared his views on the European T20 Premier League (ETPL), which he is a co-owner. Tournament approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to launch in 2026. Bachchan also reflects the development of IPL, his passion for sports films, and more.

On the social influence of cricket, IPL and development of Indian players:
“In India, there is hardly anyone in our Arab -fetus population who does not love cricket. The game is deeply inherent in our culture. The BCCI has done a great job in marketing, to create a superstar for children, to create and promote a game, you need stars. Cricket has needed. Cricket has become a true social level. Everybody has changed your talent.
On IPL on breaking Mumbai's dominance and promoting diversity:
“Before the IPL, a large part of the national team used to come from Mumbai, with the strongest cricketing association. Yes, the players also came from other areas, but dominance was clear.
