As IPL 2025 has reached its final game, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) took the Punjab Kings (PBK) at the Vishal Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, the most asked question is who will finally break their title. Former India opener and former-PBKS captain Virender Sehwag A cheerful response came when asked who he was in the final.
RCB and PBK are two of the original franchisees from the inaugural season of IPL in 2008, yet neither won the trophy. RCB lost three finals in 2009, 2011 and 2016, while PBK was reduced to its only final presence against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014. Meanwhile, Sehwag, after being asked about his prediction for the final, revealed an interesting principle behind the team, which he is supporting.
“I think RCB will win. I have gone back in my old form because I have seen that the team I support is Mi in UGB or GT in the match against Punjab Kings.
The former revealed that whatever team he supports, he ends in favor of losing and indirectly indicated that he was supporting PBK, but taking the name of RCB so that they lose the summit clash. Bangalore -based franchise qualified for the final after a clinical win over PBK in Qualifier 1. Later, in Qualifier 2, Shreyas Iyer put his side to win the Indians of Mumbai, determining the time of a thrilling rematch.
The upcoming final can be historic for RCB as Virat Kohli, who has carried out the hopes and beliefs of the franchise for about two decades, is just one step away from ending the wait. Meanwhile, PBK has found its hero in captain Iyer, who has led the front.
