In a significant clash for the playoff controversy, Delhi Capital (DC) posted a total commanding of 199/3 in its 20 overs against the Gujarat Titans (GT). The innings was brilliantly anchored by DC opener KL RahulWho displayed a masterclass in batting with an unbeaten 112 off 65 balls, including 14 fours and 4 sixes. It was Rahul's fifth century in his overall IPL career.
GT captain Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bowl first. With Mitchell Starc unavable for the match, DC Mustafizur Rahman was brought as a temporary replacement. However, it was a Bengaluru -born cricketer show, which was with a major performance by performing properly from the beginning in the entire innings.
Rahul was well supported by other batsmen. Abishek Porl scored 30 runs in 19 delivery, while Exer Patel (16 runs 16) and Triston Stabs (10 runs) added decent scores. In the bowling department for GT, Arshad Khan, Prasad Krishna, and Sai Kishore managed to take one wicket each, but struggled to join it DC Batsman.
A win for the GT would achieve them a place in the playoffs, while DC needed a win to keep his playoff hopes alive.
