Strained in Lucknow, RCB is waiting for BCCI instructions for visit to Bengaluru


Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Squad is reportedly stuck in Lucknow. The team was in the city ahead of its scheduled IPL 2025 clash with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). However, the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was suspended due to increasing tension between India and Pakistan, all the remaining fixtures, including the LSG vs RCB Clash, would have to be re -determined.

Meanwhile, the Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) is making quick and safe arrangements to ensure that the players and support employees of the participating teams reach their destination safely. RCB franchise is waiting for further instructions from board officials.

The development comes after the match between Punjab Kings (PBK) and Delhi Capital (DC), which was determined on 8 May at the HPCA Stadium in Dharmasala, canceled only after the game of only 10.1 overs. While a technical failure was considered to be the reason behind the renunciation of the game, it was later confirmed that a blackout was placed in the region amid growing tension between the border countries. Subsequently, players and spectators were asked to evacuate the stadium.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has announced that the tournament has been suspended for a week as the authorities continue to monitor the current situation.

“The Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to suspend the remaining IPL 2025 with immediate effect for a week. The further updates about the new programs and places of the tournament will be declared in consultation with relevant officers and stakeholders in consultation in consultation after comprehensive evaluation of the situation.”
