In a disappointing turn of events, the 55th match of IPL 2025 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capital (DC) in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad was abandoned due to rain, resulting in eradication of SRH from the tournament.
After winning the toss and choosing to bowl first, SRH put in a disciplined performance with the ball. Captain Pat Cummins led the front, claiming 3 wickets for just 19 runs in his four overs. Jaydev Undkat (1/13) and Harshal Patel (1/36) well supported, while young Ishaan Malinga also took a major wicket of Ashutosh Sharma.
Delhi fought to find speeds, finishing 133/7 in its 20 overs. KL Rahul scored 10 runs, while Captain Axar Patel contributed 6. Triston Stabs scored 41 runs in 36 balls, and Ashutosh Sharma scored a quick 41 runs with 41.

SRH was ready to pursue a minor target, but continuous rains stopped any further game. No result is possible, both teams shared a point. However, Washout abolished SRH's playoff hopes, excluding him from IPL 2025.
