Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won a thriller against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at just 2 runs in the 52nd match of IPL 2025 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. The domestic side claimed the second consecutive win at home and the fourth victory in total. Timely clutch performance from batsmen and bowlers helped them hold their veins and claim a win, to qualify for the playoffs.
CSK won the toss and opted to bowl on one surface first. RCB batsmen carried bonkers at the top and destroyed the CSK bowlers in the powerplay overs. Both Jacob Bethel and Virat Kohli faced 33 balls and scored 55 and 62 runs respectively. After 9.5 overs, RCB fell to 157/5 after 18 overs due to poor batting from Rajat Rajat Patidar, Jitesh Sharma and Devdutt Padikkal.

Then Romeroo Shepherd played a stunning knock, from anywhere. Power Hitter broke the 14-gent 53, the second fastest fifty in IPL history. For CSK, Pathirana claimed 3 wickets. Chasing 214, CSK got a good start. Ayush Matre and Ravindra Jadeja did a fine despite the dismissal of Sheikh Rashid and Sam Curan at the other end.
Matre played a great knock and scored 94 (48). Jadeja remained unbeaten with a score of 77*(45). Unfortunately, the bowling of RCB's death meant that he sealed an exciting 2-rin win. Lungi Cash was a bowlers pick for RCB with their 3/30. RCB qualified for the playoffs with a win, while the CSK points remained at the bottom of the table.
