2022 champions, Gujarat Titans (GT), are taking Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bowl first.
The top order of GT started havoc from the first over. Left -handed batsman Sai Reformson broke the four borders from Mohammed Shami's over and got things with an aggressive start. Tamil Nadu -born cricketer scored 48 runs in just 23 delivery, including nine fours.
GT Skipper, Shubman Gill, initially played the role of anchor before firing on the second. The initial pair held an 87 -run partnership together with just 41 balls. After the dismissal of reformson, Gill joined the crease with Jose Butler of England, and the two continued the attack with another concrete partnership.
The Indian batsman eventually went out after a mix-up, which caused some confusion between him and the umpires. He went back after scoring an impressive 76 in 38 balls, including 10 borders and two sixes. The former England captain ended the GT Post with a total commanding of 224 in 20 overs by finishing with 64 runs of 37 balls in the late innings.
For SRH, Jaydev Unadkat claimed three wickets in the final. SRH captain and Zeshan Ansari also pasted one wicket.
Meanwhile, SRH needs to win the match to remain in the playoffs controversy, while the GT's goal will be aimed at winning the match in front of the crowd of his home and getting closer to a place in the playoffs.
