'KKR made a smart option, but this team is not yet at its peak'

The Delhi Capital (DC) gave a chance to go to the top two of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 points table on Tuesday, April 29, as he lost to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Knight Riders posted a commendable total of 204/9 in their 20 overs after being asked to bat first. In response, Fad Do Plessis played a good hand as 45 balls for 62 runs kept Delhi in hunting. Exer Patel and Vipraj Nigam played Quickfire Knock, but was not enough to take DC on the line as the home side lost the match by 14 runs. Sunil Narin The bowlers had a pick for KKR, took three wickets at a price of 29 runs in four overs.

Former India opener Akash Chopra said that other batsmen had to provide more assistance to Do Plessis so that Delhi could deepen the game. The cricketer-than-expert praised KKR's move to give a new ball to Anukel Roy. The Jharkhand all-rounder bowled financially and also took the wicket of in-form Abishek Porl.

“Delhi's capitals were likely to seal the deal, but it was not just about Faf du Plessis. Somebody else had to bat with him and deepen the game to pressurize him. They did not start well. KKR worked to work brilliantly to Anukul Roy. Chopra said,” Chopra said.

He said, “I think KL Rahul's run-out was absolutely important. After that, this was his last opportunity. When Triston Stabs did not contribute, it seemed that Delhi was going to be less.”

The 47 -year -old said that KKR should have posted 240 runs with the firepower conducted by him in his batting order. He also said that Harshit Rana, who recently won the Champions Trophy with the Indian team, has to step with the ball, especially because the defending champions are relying on their domestic pace.

“Varun Chakraborty was not in his best, but KKR made a smart option-Anukulu Roy bowled four overs for just 27 runs and took one wicket. Sunil Narin was absolutely outstanding. He won the game to play with the ball. Rana needs to step.

KL Rahul's run-out turning point was: Akash Chopra

Chopra said that KL Rahul helped Narin to run-out, helped KKR back into the game. The mystery spinner was also responsible for important wickets, leading the capitals far behind.

“First, he batted brilliantly, and then he bowled. And there was a lack of confidence to bowl slowly.
