Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) amulet batsman Virat Kohli In the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Orange Cap has returned once again. His sensational half-century at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday, 24 April against Rajasthan Royals (RR) helped him climb up to number 2 in the list of leading run-songs this season. He has scored 392 runs in nine innings at an average of 65.33 and has a strike rate of 144.12.
Kohli announced his retirement from T20I cricket after Kohli helped India win the T20 World Cup last year. However, Suresh Raina feels that his former India team companions quickly retired, as he could continue till 2026. The former India batsman appreciated Kohli's batting rhythm and fitness.
“I still feel that Virat Kohli retired quickly from T20i cricket. He could play until 2026, with the rhythm he is playing now, and also during the 2025 Champions Trophy. The way he has maintained his fitness, he is still on his chalk,” Raina said.
Kohli is the leading run-scorer in T20 World Cup history. He ended his career on a high, winning the Player of the Match Award against South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup final. Kohli is also the most runs in the IPL. If he manages to finish as the highest run-scorer in the ongoing season, he will become the first Indian batsman and the second overall to win three orange cap. In particular, he ended as the highest run-goldter in the Cash-Rich League last season.
RCB set a total of 205/5 against Rajasthan on Kohli's 70 -run 42 -ball back. Devdutt Padikkal also contributed with 27 balls. In response, the Royals were limited to 194/9. Josh was a pick of Hazelwood bowlers, as he ended with 4/33 figures in his four overs. RCB went to number 3 on the points table with its victory on Thursday.
