Mumbai Indians opened their account at the IPL 2025 points table with a wide win over Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
In the first over of the match, proceedings started with Trent Bowlt striking as it does not do much. However, the move did not help as Ashwani Kumar (4/24), who took a wicket with his first ball, ruined the order between KKR. Eventually, Knight Riders were excluded for a paletry 116.
MI was an even more easy time to chase because Ryan Ricelton (62* 41 runs) decided to bring and chase his A-game. Even without much support from the rest of the top three, Suryakumar Yadav assisted Ricelton with a fireworks to chase the target in just 12.5 overs.
