In a statement released on Thursday, the regulator revealed its investigation – including witnesses of many players and Bradburn's own interview with the regulator – found evidence to maintain three specific allegations, including the charges.
It was alleged that on several occasions including the changing room at Sophia Garden during the 2024 pre-season, Bradburn asked the Asian background players what their “real age” is, saying “Your Cricinfo Age”, “Cricinfo” or similarly. Suggestions Asian players were lies about their age.
In a meeting of the pre-seasons team, Bradburn suggested that the selection decisions in Pakistan were made by taking out their friends and cousins or names from a hat. Bradburn had previously played several roles with Pakistan, including a six -month term as head coach.
Bradburn was also alleged that the phrase “it is not a Western storm” was used (now the domestic side of women located in the southwest of England and Wales that were often based in cardifs) or during fielding practice sessions, similarly, male players were “throwing like girls” when they felt they felt that they felt that they felt that they were demonstrating intensity in the drill.
The regulator also began the “Western Storm” comment as a personal joke with another coach and admitted that it was picked up and used by the players. In terms of the purpose of ECB to make cricket the most inclusive game in the country, it was determined as an aggressive factor in view of the impact of Bradburn on Team Culture in his role as a head coach. Such comments were not made in the company of Western storm players or coaches.
Bradburn admitted the charge of bringing the game into disarray – violation of Regulation 3.3 of Professional Conduct Regulation 2024 – The regulator admitted that it was not the cause of crime with his words.
CDC assistant Tim O'Gorman released Bradburn with a rebuke, a precaution, discrimination and need to participate in a suitable course on EDI as its future conduct – either with the professional cricketers Association or New Zealand Players Association – and a suspended fine of £ 500.
The punishment assigned reflects the fact that Bradburn never refused to make derogatory statements and operated completely with investigation, and apologized unreserved for any crime. The scale of the fine also shows that Bradbun had already paid an important value for his actions, which lost his coaching role with Glamorgan.
Cricket regulator director Chris Huard said: “There is no place for discrimination in cricket and is unacceptable for generalization of discriminatory language through such conduct. Where such examples are identified, they will be examined and those responsible people will be taken into consideration.
“The regulator fully supports the observation of the CDC that the culture in any organization is greatly influenced by those who lead that organization and so it is especially dependent on all senior leaders to set the right tone. In this example, Grant Bradburn failed to meet expectations.
“The regulator would like to thank Glamorgan for his aid in this matter and praise the openness and courage of those who inform this misconduct.
“Removing discrimination from sports is a priority for a cricket regulator. We believe that it seems a lot of courage to the affected people to come forward. We are committed to fully and rapid investigation when allegations are raised with us, whether in the present or past.”
In a statement issued by Glamorgan, Chief Executive Officer Dan Cherry remarked: “Glamorgan Cricket Accepted and welcomed the decision by the Cricket Discipline Committee.
“We have a zero-assessment policy towards discriminatory behavior, so as soon as the issues were indicated, we worked fast to protect the affected people and show a strong line against poor behaviors that do not reflect the values of the club.
“We believe that the systems and procedures we have to identify poor behavior, they are working based on the fact that the affected people feel able to come forward at these points.”
Bradburn, during his only season in-charge, oversee the success of Glamorgan in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup. The Division two of the County County Championship and the T20 Blast South Group also finished sixth in both.
