Another new season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is on the horizon as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), defending champion at the prestigious Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, 22 March.
RCB, Delhi Capital, and Punjab Kings are only three teams in the IPL, which have been depicted in all 17 sessions so far, but have never won the prestigious title. However, Bangalore -based franchise is one of the most loyal fanbase in the competition. Their favorite team may not have tasted success, but they never turn their backs on them and come out with the same passion every year in the hope of looking at history.
Will 2025 be their year? Can they get their hands around the title for the first time? How is his team in this season? Is it better than the teams they did in the previous season? Cricketcker answers these questions and more in this article.
Fresh start with new captain
After performing his skills as a batsman for RCB in recent years, Silver The upcoming edition of the IPL has given the responsibility of leading the franchise. The right -handed batsman has captained the T20 format in 16 matches. He has 12 wins and four defeats in his name. The Patidar will not carry any goods as he is leading RCB for the first time. He is a calm and created customer and this can help him in crunch situations. The Madhya Pradesh batsman will also have the experience of Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli high in confidence
Virat Kohli did a sensational season with the bat last year as he won the Orange Cap. He can be set for another strong outing this season as he is coming to the tournament behind a successful tenure for India in the 2025 Champions Trophy. Kohli set a century against Pakistan in the semi -finals against Australia and a century against half -century against Australia. He gave more than 50 time on an average and played an important role in helping India take the title after 12 years. This time, RCB has a lot of proven artists in the batting department, and the management would hopes that Kohli will be able to play with much less pressure than in previous seasons.
Reliable seamors
RCB has fought in its bowling department for years. His seamers have gone for a lot of runs in the backnd of the innings and have put the batsmen under great pressure. However, the management tried to address Akilis Heal by roping at veteran seamors Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood, who have performed well in the league in the previous sessions.
Both can swing the new ball and get wickets inside the powerplay. They are also reliable options in the overs of death along with the capacity of yorker and slow delivery. Yash Dayal made a great comeback after five sixes in the previous season, in which KKR submerged his souls in IPL 2023. RCB retained him before mega-auction. He is expected to create a malignant Troika with Bhubaneswar and Hazelwood.

Not much dependence on top three batsmen
Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli had the responsibility of scoring run for many years for RCB in IPL. In the last three sessions, Onas FAF was on Du Plessis, Kohli and Glenn Maxwell's Troika. However, later there was an absmal season with the bat, scoring just 52 runs in 10 matches. This year, the batting department feels very deep, at least on paper.
In addition to the destructive phil salt and the talented Devdutt on top, there are Kohli and Patidar in the middle of RCB. The middle and lower-order packed a punch, in which Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma and Tim David expected to start the season. If they set fire to all cylinders, it will be difficult to defeat Royal Challengers.
