Sri Lankan cricketer Ashen Bandra arrested for alleged attack


Sri Lankan cricketer Ashen bandra It was arrested on Saturday when it was alleged that he attacked his neighbor after an issue related to parking. He has been granted bail since then, and is expected to appear in court on 12 March.

According to the Sri Lanka police, the incident took place on Saturday evening at Kolmuna, Piliandala, where Bandra lives. Following an argument on a parking vehicle blocking the road, Bandra alleged that she entered her neighbor's house and attacked the person.

Sri Lanka police said, “On Saturday evening, one of the neighbors had complained about causing trouble to Bandra, and he had tortured someone's house.” “The oral conflict had then increased in a physical. He was arrested on suspicion of attack on Saturday night and exited the same day.”

On contacting for the comment, Sri Lankan Cricket CEO Ashley de Silva said he would need more information about the incident before taking a decision during the action. D. Silva also said that while Bandra is currently not centrally contracted, he is subject to contract with police SC in Sri Lanka's National Super League, as if he could be responsible for SLC's reputation.

D. Silva said, “We also need to see the first contract and see the event. If they are considered to be dissatisfied, then there is further action that we can,” D. Silva said. “So we will discuss the matter internally and if it warns a probe, we will operate one.”

The 26-year-old Bandra, a middle-order batsman, has played six ODIs and six T20Is. He last played for Sri Lanka as part of the second-string squad at the Asian Games in October 2023. He last left for the first XI in January 2023.
