Espncricinfo has learned that the BCB changed its format policy based on the benefit of its test specialists. In the previous policy, the Council found it difficult to properly reward test cricketers. The President of the BCB's Cricket Operations, Najmul Abedeen Fahim, said that after a recent board meeting that central contracts would try to reward the test specialists.
Degree A also included Mushfiqur Rahim, although his retirement of hatred means that he will move to degree B where the salary is 600,000 BDT (about 4,900 USD) per month.
Speedster Nahid Rana is also in category B after its impressive 2024. It is among four newcomers to obtain a contract, the others are Jaker Ali, Tanzid Hasan and Rishad Hossain, who are in the degree C with a salary of 400,000 BDT (3,300 USD) per month.
The BCB mentioned in his press release that Mahmudullah, who turned 39 last month, requested that the Council did not consider him on the list of central contracts after February 2025.
Souma Sarkar and Shadman Islam return to the BCB's central contracts for the first time since 2021 and 2022 respectively.
Shakib Alsan, Zakir Hasan, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Naeem Hasan and Nurul Hasan had contracts last year, but they are not on the list this time.
