Former England under -19 Bakers came to the Samraset before joining Hampshire in winter. He was called for Australia’s England Lions Tour, which started the first class in the final tour match against Australia A and finishing with 3 figures for 60.
His performance, including a race for a 5 match for 71 against Cricket Australia Xi, caught Lions’ head coach, Andrew Flintoff’s eyes, the ECB later put him on contract until September.
Flintoff said, “It has been an ultimate pleasure to see Sunny in winter.” “He and I are very different in character and personality, but it is a pleasure to see pride in wearing three lions, the energy that he brings on every ball, and the theater and magic that he makes on the pitch.
“His professionalism and dedication to every aspect of his game is an example for all. Sunny has a bright future ahead, and we are ready to continue working with him and Hampshire in the coming years.”
