Ben Sears from Champions Trophy with Hamstring Tear; Jacob Dafi named Replacement

Dafi has played ten Odis, in which he has taken 18 wickets. In an OD series of the house against Sri Lanka earlier this year, he took four wickets in two matches.

“Jacob showed his performance in the recent domestic series against Sri Lanka that he was capable internationally,” Stead said. “He has been part of the squad for the ODI three-series, so he is fully acting and he has got a lot of experience in these situations and he is fit and ready to go.

“He is another player who will be experiencing his first senior ICC event, so it will be an exciting for him a few weeks ago.”

New Zealand will face Pakistan in the Tri-series final in Karachi on Friday. His first match of the Champions Trophy is against Pakistan at the same place on Wednesday.
