BCB forms an independent consultation body to help BPL 2024-25 corruption allegations


The BCB has formed an independent research body to support its anti -corruption unit (ACU) in ongoing research at the BPL. The announcement follows a whirl of corruption allegations in the BPL for the last two weeks.

“As part of its ongoing efforts, the BCB is in the process of establishing an independent consultation body to support the ACU in its research,” a BCB press release said. “The BCB is dedicated to ensuring a just and transparent cricketing environment and will continue to take all the necessary actions to safeguard the integrity of sport in Bangladesh.”

The press release said there have been media reports on possible corruption incidents during the tournament. The reports have named players and games, although the complaints have not been corroborated by the BCB.

“The BCB has also encountered the media coverage on possible anti -corruption concerns about the BPL. The Council reiterates its firm commitment to defend the integrity and spirit of the game,” the statement said. “The BCB strictly adheres to the ICC anti -corruption code for participants and maintains a zero tolerance policy towards corruption in any way. The BCB anti -corruption unit is continuously monitoring all issues related to the integrity of Bangla’s cricket Desh, approaching them with due confidentiality and discretion. “

It is the first time since 2013 that the BCB has announced an investigation into corruption complaints at the BPL.
