ICC Code of Conduct rules will be adopted in IPL 2025

With the new season of IPL (Indian Premier League) 2025 underway, several reports have emerged stating that the IPL will reportedly adopt the International Cricket Council (ICC) Code of Conduct rules for all players in the 2025 season.

According to reports, this decision was taken in the recent BCCI General Council meeting where many important topics like the upcoming WPL, IPL and Champions Trophy were also discussed.

“From now on, ICC sanctioned penalties will be imposed for Level 1, 2 or 3 offences. Till date, the IPL had its own code of conduct, but going forward, the playing conditions will be followed as per the ICC T20I rules,” an IPL GC member was quoted as saying by News18.

It is noteworthy that 10 violations of the code of conduct were registered in IPL 2024. There were many moments in the tournament that were controversial and went viral.

Tim David, Kieron Pollard, Virat Kohli, Sam Curran, Rasikh Salam Dar and Ishan Kishan all provided Level 1 offense in the latter games. However, with the reported change in rules, certain offenses will not be exempted in IPL 2025.
