In IPL, the Player of the Match winner gets a prize money of Rs 1 lakh along with a special trophy. During the 2026 season, four players tied for the most Player of the Match awards, each winning three. However, not every player played the same number of matches.

3. Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Virat Kohli – 3 in 16 matches

Both current and future players of Team India won three Player of the Match awards in 16 matches in the 2026 IPL season. Virat KohliThe honor came twice, including in the showpiece final in Ahmedabad against Gujarat Titans. The 37-year-old player scored unbeaten 75 runs in 42 balls to give Royal Challengers Bangalore their second consecutive title. The former captain also won the award against Kolkata Knight Riders, where he scored an unbeaten 105 off 60 balls to help his team win by six wickets in Raipur.
Vaibhav SuryavanshiOn the other hand, not only won three Player of the Match awards, but was also named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament along with Emerging Player of the Season. The 15-year-old's most important match-worthy innings came against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator, where he scored 97 runs off just 29 balls and was on his way to register the fastest century in IPL history. The left-hander scored a century against the same opponent in Jaipur, but could not win the Player of the Match award as Rajasthan Royals lost.
