5) Most sixes by a player in an IPL season: Vaibhav Suryavanshi – 72

Vaibhav Suryavanshi IPL 2026 was the talk of the town. The way the 15-year-old southpaw faced the best bowlers was worth watching. He made a record breaking performance in his second year of IPL cricket by scoring 776 runs at a strike rate of 237.70. This young player played an important role in taking Rajasthan Royals to the playoffs and was their most dangerous batsman.
He broke Chris Gayle's century-old record of most sixes hit by a batsman in an IPL season. He thrashed the bowlers throughout the season and hit 72 sixes. He hit 12 sixes in his playoff innings against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he scored 97 runs off just 29 balls, which is the most number of sixes hit by a batsman in a playoff innings in the IPL.
