Michael Clarke reveals details of horrific car accident after IPL 2026 final

former australian captain michael clarke Details have emerged about the horrific car accident he was involved in while driving to the airport after the IPL final.

The former cricketer was heading towards the airport after the end of the game when he revealed that his car had crashed under another truck. Clark said he was unaware at the time, as he was sleeping at the time of the incident.

“The journey home has been interesting to say the least. I start by saying thank God for the good people in India. That's why I got home safely. I was sleeping. After the game I fell asleep travelling. Obviously, I wasn't driving. Then when I woke up I saw the front of the car was under a truck,” Clarke said on the Beyond23 Cricket Podcast.

Describing the incident in detail, Clark said that there was a problem with the brake light of the truck in front. He said he was grateful to escape with few injuries, but was concerned the driver may have suffered a broken leg. He further expressed his concern for the driver, who was panicking as the vehicle was not his.

“The driver explained to me that the brake lights on the truck weren't working. So my driver hit the truck from behind. Then, it was a big semi-trailer and our car went down. I escaped with some injuries, but I definitely think he hurt his leg a little bit. He was really worried because he was so scared. It wasn't his car, he works for the company,” he said.

Clarke thanked the BCCI members for checking on his well-being after the incident. He was grateful to escape the incident safely.

“Everyone at the BCCI, everyone there, they are checking him and they are checking me. They have been unreal. So I am very grateful for that,” he said. He said, “It was a complete accident. Such things happen all the time, but for me it was more of a shock because I was in a deep sleep and then when I woke up I saw that I was very close to being under a truck. It was not an ideal way to get home, but I took my flight. I am back here and very fortunate to be a part of another great IPL campaign. I love it.”
