Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder Krunal Pandya Rajasthan Royals teenage sensation Vaibhav has joined the long list of cricketers to praise Suryavanshi after the youngster's remarkable IPL 2026 campaign.
Enthralling fans and experts with his fearless batting and exceptional consistency, Suryavanshi emerged as the biggest revelation of the season. The 15-year-old opening batsman finished as the leading run-scorer of IPL 2026, scoring 776 runs in 16 innings at an astonishing strike rate of 237.30.
The left-handed batsman registered his name in the history books of the tournament by hitting 72 sixes during the season and overtook Chris Gayle's previous record of 59 sixes.
Despite Rajasthan Royals missing out on a place in the final, Suryavanshi produced several memorable performances throughout the tournament. His explosive 97 off just 29 balls in the eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad played a crucial role in keeping RR's title hopes alive, while his explosive 96 in Qualifier 2 against Gujarat Titans once again showcased his immense potential.
Among the bowlers who had direct experience of facing teenage talent was Krunal Pandya. The RCB all-rounder also managed to dismiss Suryavanshi during their league stage encounter in Guwahati and reflected on that fight during a recent interaction. Krunal recalled his meeting with the young player and admitted that he was quite impressed by what he saw.
“Oh, yes. We played a game against RR in Guwahati. In fact, I got their wicket as well,” Krunal told The Times of India. The veteran all-rounder described Suryavanshi as a rare talent and praised his ability to perform at such a high level despite his age.
“But boy, what a talent! At the age of 15! Generational talent. To bat like that at the age of 15. Whether you're 30, 40 or 25, batting like that is commendable. But 15? And he's not just batting hard. That boy's got brains,” he added.
Krunal highlighted the youngster's innings in Qualifier 2 against Gujarat Titans, noting that his game awareness and flair sets him apart from many power-hitters.
“Look at the way he batted in Qualifier 2 vs GT. He played the conditions. I am very curious to see how he continues his journey forward in the next ten years,” Krunal said.
Suryavanshi's sensational season has already started conversations about his long-term future in Indian cricket. While expectations from the teenager continue to rise, his performances in IPL 2026 have undoubtedly established him as one of the brightest young talents in the game.
