Mumbai Indians Finished their season in ninth place in IPL 2026, with eight points from 14 matches, registering only four wins.
Despite a solid start, where they won their first game of the season for the first time in 14 years, the five-time champions endured a season of turmoil, and if reports are to be believed, there was significant chaos off the field. A common feature of their season was the frequent cuts and changes in their lineup, which led to many of the performing players not getting enough chances to prove themselves or make a difference.
Here are three players who were under-utilized by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026:
3) Corbin Bosch

south african fast bowler Corbin Bosch Over the past year, he has established himself as one of the most reliable middle and death overs bowlers in the shortest format. He has been a point of difference in the Proteas attack, troubling the batsmen with his hit-the-deck bowling and bowling yorkers with accuracy in the death overs. With Mumbai Indians struggling with their death bowling and lack of key wicket-takers, Bosch was a name that was significantly under-utilized by the franchise.
He was one of MI's premier strike bowlers in his time, taking 12 wickets at an economy of 9.67 in six matches, including career-best IPL figures of 4 for 26 against champions Royal Challengers Bangalore in a spectacular spell of fast bowling. This forces one to think what impact he could have had if he had been given a longer game.
