Former India and Chennai Super Kings batsman Ambati Rayudu has urged Yashasvi Jaiswal Leaving Rajasthan Royals (RR) for a change of environment. This comes after the left-handed batsman's opening partner Vaibhav Suryavanshi mesmerized the New Chandigarh crowd by scoring 97 off 29 balls in Qualifier 1 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Rayudu wants Jaiswal to join a different franchise to get out of the shadow of Suryavanshi. The former player turned specialist believes the 24-year-old is a star capable of winning games on his own, rather than playing a supporting role in Suryavanshi.
After suggesting that Jaiswal should leave RR for a new assignment, the next obvious question for Rayudu was which franchise the Indian batsman should go to, for which he suggested Mumbai Indians.

He needs that place and that platform. Because this guy will keep dominating people, he needs to have a senior partner who can deal with that and be happy for him. Rayudu's suggestion of Jaiswal joining MI makes sense on paper. With Rohit Sharma turning 40 next year, the Mumbai-based franchise will be looking for an opening batsman who can replace their former skipper for a long time. The five-time champions also had a disappointing 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign, finishing ninth in the standings with eight points.
