IPL 2026: SRH vs RR, Eliminator Highlights


Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost to Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 47 runs at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on Wednesday, May 27. The Riyan Parag-led side advanced to Qualifier 2, where they will face Gujarat Titans, while SRH are out.

Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bowl first on an excellent batting track. Vaibhav Suryavanshi Taking full advantage of the circumstances, he scored a half-century in 16 balls. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal once again played the single fiddle. Suryavanshi scored 97 runs in 29 balls before being dismissed by Prafulla Hinge in the eighth over.

Dhruv Jurel carried forward the momentum provided by Suryavanshi as he brought up his half-century in 20 balls. Yashasvi was out after scoring 29 runs, but Riyan Parag gave good support to Jurel by scoring 26 runs in 12 balls. SRH took a lot of wickets at the end of the innings and restricted RR to below 250. The inaugural champions finished on 243/8.

In reply, Joffra Archer once again hit a four in his very first over. On the second ball he sent Abhishek Sharma back to the hut. Ishan Kishan and Travis Head threw the kitchen sink at the RR bowlers as SRH scored 50 runs inside the third over. However, Archer bounced back with the wicket of Kishan, who scored 33 runs in 11 balls.

Archer also dismissed Travis Head and the credit for this goes to captain Parag who stuck with the England pacer even when the SRH top order hit them from all sides.

Heinrich Klaasen looked dangerous but the talented Yashraj Punia got the better of him in the seventh over. SRH lost half their team within seven overs. Salil Arora and Nitish Kumar Reddy made a strong partnership of 56 runs in 24 balls, but were later dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja.

Salil Arora and Shivang Kumar hit a few fours but in the end the Orange Army was all out for 196 runs in 19.2 overs.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi broke records!

Suryavanshi hit three sixes and a four off Pat Cummins in the third over and then hit three more sixes in the next over bowled by Saqib Hussain. In the end, Suryavanshi scored 97 runs in 29 balls with the help of five fours and 12 sixes. His strike rate was 334.48. The left-handed batsman now has the most runs (680) by an uncapped batsman in an IPL season and also the most number of sixes in a single edition of the tournament.


Jofra Archer dismantles the famous SRH top order

Jofra Archer has made a habit of taking wickets in his first over in IPL 2026. He gave a dream start to RR by dismissing Abhishek Sharma on his second ball. Travis Head and Ishan Kishan went after him and hit a flurry of boundaries, but the right-arm pacer made a commendable comeback to dismiss the two left-handed batsmen. In the end, Archer took 3 for 58 in four overs.


Dhruv Jurel puts in another impressive performance with the bat

Dhruv Jurel may have been a little impressed by Suryavanshi's talent, but he has been exemplary for the Royals this season. The wicketkeeper-batsman hit the ball to all parts of the ground with great fluency during his innings of 50 runs off 21 balls. He hit five fours and three sixes during his innings with a strike rate of 238.1. This was his sixth half-century of this season.
