Jacob Duffy, bowling the third over of the innings, bowled a short ball of good length to the left-handed batsman. Sudarshan stayed behind and attempted a fierce cut shot across point. However, in a bizarre moment, his bat slipped from his hand immediately after making contact with the ball. As the batsman was trying to complete the run quickly, the bat bounced behind him and fell on the stumps, causing the bails to be uprooted.
Sudarshan was initially unaware of what had happened and returned only after noticing the disturbance in the stumps. The unfortunate dismissal was a huge success for RCB, which they will gladly accept in such a pressure-packed match.
