Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first for Mumbai Indians. He admitted that this season has been difficult for the team but it would like to end the season on a high note. Riyan Parag also wanted to bowl first and wanted the team to make the most of the opportunity they had and make it to the playoffs.
MI vs RR: Royals make three changes, MI rest Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah It's been a tough season. This veteran fast bowler has taken only four wickets in the entire season and could not perform at his best. MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene confirmed that Bumrah was troubled by the T20 World Cup, which led to a slow start to the season. “We would have bowled as well. We know it could be our last game of the season and we will play like this, hopefully we will get 2 points. Everything we have put together, all the energy and preparation, it is time to maximize it and go into the playoffs. I think we missed a few chances but that is on us. If we win we qualify and we don't have to wait. We have 3 changes. Nandre, Jadeja and I will come back.”
