Indian actor Ram Charan recently issued an apology on social media after accidentally referring to India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah as a footballer during the promotional event of his upcoming film Peddi.
The incident took place at the grand music launch of the film in Bhopal, where Ram Charan attended along with Janhvi Kapoor, AR Rahman and other members of the film's cast and crew. During a media interaction, the actor was asked to describe some of India's iconic cricketers in a few words.
Ramcharan described Sachin Tendulkar As for “long-haulers”, MS Dhoni has been called “calm and cool”, Virat Kohli has been called “fire”, and Rohit Sharma has been said to be “everyone's guy.” However, while speaking about Bumrah, the actor accidentally referred to him as a footballer, leading to a flood of reactions and memes on the social media platform.

IPL 2026 was disappointing for Jasprit Bumrah
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians (MI) fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah IPL 2026 is going badly. The 32-year-old has not looked anywhere close to his best this season, and that has troubled the five-time IPL champions as well. So far in 13 matches, he has taken only four wickets at an average of 102.50 and economy rate of 8.37.
MI coach Mahela Jayawardene recently opened up on Bumrah's decline and gave some insights.
“It's because of a combination of a few things. Coming back from the (T20) World Cup, he had a bit of a niggle with which he played the World Cup, so we gave him enough rest to come back,” Jayawardene said on the eve of the match against Rajasthan Royals.
The match between RR and MI will take place on May 25 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
