Rajasthan Royals have signed Imanjot Chahal As a replacement for wicketkeeper-batsman Ravi Singh, who has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 due to a hamstring injury. Ravi Singh played one match in the tournament before being ruled out due to injury.
Patiala's young all-rounder Imanjot has been included in his place. This promising cricketer has represented Punjab in domestic cricket and has shown solid all-round ability. In first-class cricket, he has recorded the highest score of 83 with the bat and also taken 11 wickets in just three matches with his left-arm spin. RR have signed him for a fee of Rs 30 lakh as they look to strengthen their squad depth ahead of the crucial final stage of the tournament.
Talking about Rajasthan Royals' campaign, the team is preparing for the high-pressure final league-stage clash against Mumbai Indians on May 24 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. While this encounter is expected to play a decisive role in shaping the playoff race, RR still need to ensure a strong finish.
Under the leadership of Riyan Parag, Rajasthan Royals have had a competitive season so far, winning seven of their 13 matches. They are currently placed fourth in the points table and are in a strong position to qualify for the playoffs. The team has performed well as a unit throughout the season and has shown consistency in both the batting and bowling departments.
A major highlight of RR's campaign has been the explosive form of teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi at the top of the order. He has emerged as their leading run-scorer with 579 runs in 13 matches, giving the team aggressive starts and stability at the top. His performances have been crucial in many major victories.
On the bowling front, Jofra Archer has led the attack effectively, taking 18 wickets in 13 matches. His pace and wicket-taking ability have given Rajasthan Royals the lead at crucial moments. With playoff hopes still in limbo, RR will be keen to deliver a strong performance and secure their place in the top four.
