Gujarat Titans (GT) continued their dominance Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 with an impressive 89-run win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match 66 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, May 21.
After being asked to bat first, GT batted brilliantly and scored a mammoth score of 229/4 in the stipulated 20 overs. Sai Sudarshan once again performed brilliantly at the top of the order, scoring 84 runs in 53 balls with the help of seven fours and four sixes. Captain Shubman Gill gave an explosive start by scoring 64 runs in just 37 balls, while Jos Buttler gave a strong end to the innings by scoring 57 not out in 27 balls. Washington Sundar also played a quick inning of 7 runs in three balls.
The Titans' top-order dominated the CSK bowling attack throughout the innings, forming important partnerships and maintaining a high scoring rate. For Chennai, Mukesh Choudhary, Spencer Johnson and Anshul Kamboj took one wicket each, but the visitors struggled to stop GT's aggressive batting lineup.
In reply, CSK had a very bad start and the team was out for 140 runs in just 13.4 overs. Mohammed Siraj gave the initial blow and got out sanju samson For a golden duck and kept GT firmly in control by dismissing captain Ruturaj Gaikwad early on.
