Riyan Parag Rajasthan Royals (RR) were eliminated in the final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Tuesday, May 19. This match is being played between Royals and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
Yashasvi Jaiswal walked out for the toss on Tuesday and revealed that regular captain Parag is not available for the game as he is nursing a hamstring injury. The opening batsman confirmed that Parag will be fully fit soon.
However, Parag's name was in the list of impact players. This created a situation of confusion among cricket lovers.

So the reason is that, as per the new rule, only the players named in the 16-man match squad can take the field. The rest will have to stay in the dugout. Parag has been kept in the impact sub list so that he can guide the players with his experience from outside the boundary.
This is an interesting move from the Royals camp. Parag will not come out to bat as Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been named in the impact players list and should replace one of the Royals bowlers in the second innings.
It is finding difficult for the Royals to chase the target. They can qualify for the playoffs by winning this game and the next match against Mumbai Indians. However, if they lose either of the two matches, they will have to rely on other results.
On the other hand, the Super Giants have nothing to lose. Rishabh Pant and Co. have been out of the competition and have been playing fearless cricket since the last game. Thanks to the 109-run partnership between Josh Inglis and Mitchell Marsh, the visiting team has made a great start against the Royals. They will try to score more than 220.
