Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) lost to Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Tuesday, May 19.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Riyan Parag, who came in for the toss, missed the game due to a hamstring injury. The opening batsman won the toss and decided to field first. However, the move was of no use as Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis clean bowled the RR bowlers.

The Australian pair scored 109 runs in nine overs before Inglis was out after scoring 60 runs in 29 balls. Nicholas Pooran hit a few sixes, but could not convert his start into a big score.

However, Marsh continued to batter the bowlers in the middle overs and completed another half-century. LSG captain Rishabh Pant played some brilliant shots and it paid off. He scored 35 runs in 23 balls during the 64-run partnership with Marsh.

While the Royals bowled some quiet overs in the middle, the Super Giants finished at a strong score of 220/5. Marsh played an inning of 96 runs in 57 balls with the help of 11 fours and five sixes.

In reply, Yashasvi hit the ground hard and hit fours at will. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, on the other hand, was a little more conservative than usual. However, after the stand-in captain was out in the seventh over, Suryavanshi got loose.

There was a partnership of 105 runs for the second wicket between Suryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel. During the partnership, the former player scored 68 runs in 22 balls. The southpaw was eventually dismissed in the 14th over, but RR had already scored 180 runs at that point. Suryavanshi's innings ended at 93 runs in 38 balls.

Luan-Dre Pretorius was run out for seven on his return before Jurel (53*) and Donovan Ferreira (16*) finished the game with five balls remaining.
