'You'll have to come back next year'

Former Chennai Super Kings cricketer Suresh Raina It has been revealed whether MS Dhoni has one more year left to play in the IPL (Indian Premier League). During the 63rd match of IPL 2026 between CSK and SRH at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on May 18, there were rumors that this could be Dhoni's last appearance in the league. However, Dhoni was not a part of the eleven and warmed the bench.

After the match, Raina met Dhoni on the field and talked to the legendary cricketer. The cricketer turned commentator later revealed that he had asked Dhoni to come back for the tournament next year as well, as he was injured throughout the 2026 season, with only one more league-stage match left. However, Dhoni told his ex-CSK and India teammate that he can take the decision only when the body is fit.

“I told ms dhoni 'You have given a missed call to IPL 2026. It will not count. You will have to come again next year. He said, 'No friend, the body is a bit like that.' I said, 'We can't believe anything. You have to play next year'. This is his personal call. I think he is positive. The team is performing well again, Raina told Star Sports during the post-match show.
