Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Riyan Parag was forming a solid partnership with wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel, where Mitchell Starc Came to the rescue of Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 62 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 during their home game played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, May 17.
Before coming in to bowl the 15th over of the first innings, RR were scoring 160 runs for the loss of just two wickets. However, Starc completely changed the course of the game with excellent bowling. Australian fast bowler took the wicket of Parag on the second ball of the over. DC Captain Akshar Patel made an excellent diving catch while fielding at long on. In a carbon copy of the first wicket, new batsman Donovan Ferreira was out in much the same fashion, hitting the ball to long on where Axar was positioned.
Ravi Singh came to bat with Starc who was on a hat-trick. The left-arm fast bowler tried to bowl a yorker, which came in the form of a fulltoss, which was hit for a four. However, on the very next ball, Starc bowled a slower ball, which completely deceived the left-handed batsman and the ball hit his pads and he was given out leg before wicket (LBW).
After finally taking the wicket of Sri Lanka's Dasun Shanaka, Starc ended his four-over spell with figures of 4 for 40.
